Default Orange Livebox wireless

My wireless symbol has disappeared, also when I click on network connections the wireless connection has disappeared.

I thought that I would uninstall the Livebox programme and reload but I cannot find the programme to uninstall.

Can anyone help please?

Susan

Susan, step by step:

1) "My wireless symbol has disappeared"
Where from? is it the symbol from the modem?

2) "when I click on network connections the wireless connection has disappeared''
What is the operating system? Vista? XP? Windows 7?

3) Is this a laptop or a desktop?

4) "I thought that I would uninstall the Livebox programme and reload but I cannot find the programme to uninstall"
It won't change anything unless the program you're trying to uninstall it is the program for the WIFI card.

Thank you for replying:

1. The symbol (a little ariel) use to be in the bottom right hand corner of my desk top. I assumed it appeared after I loaded the Orange LiveBox software but I suppose it may have been there already.

2. I have a Vista operating system.

3. Laptop

4. I am not technically minded but I believe that the wifi card was already built within the laptop - HP Pavilion dv6000.

Thank you.
A few more questions:
1) What model is your router?
2) How many light are at the front of the router?
See here an example:

Is this the model you have?

If there are only 2 red lights on your modem then try to reset the modem(unplug the power cable for 10 sec. then put it back in) and see if that changes anything.
If not you might have to reload the firmware or ask Orange to change the box for a newer model as this particular one is well known for firmware problems.
To perform a firmware see a previous post on the same section. It relates to exactly the same model.
regards

Yes I have the model that you show in the picture. I have 2 solid lights showing. I have tried unplugging but I still only have 2 solid lights showing.
